The 3rd Annual Philippine KPOP Convention – the biggest KPOP fan event of the year! For the fans, by the fans towards a great cause!
The Philippine Kpop Convention is the flagship event of The Philippine Kpop Committee, Inc. (PKCI), the first and only non-profit Korean music organization in the country. PKCI is dedicated to creating awareness of and appreciation for Korean music and culture in the Philippines primarily through gatherings, musical concerts and various events. To date, PKCI has gathered over 10,000 Korean music fans to its annual Kpop Convention.
This event is recognized by local and international Korean organizations and supported by over 60 of the biggest fan clubs in the Philippines. In cooperation with major record labels and with media coverage ranging from print, television and the international online community, the 3rd Philippine Kpop Convention is the biggest gathering of Korean music enthusiasts in the country! Running on its third year this 2011, we aim to bring together 5,000 fans for a day-long festival filled with entertainment, socialization and cultural activities which will further promote Korean-Filipino friendship in our country. Apart from the numerous booths and side-events, there will be a program and talent competitions among our many activities. Check out the event highlights for an in-depth look!
In the previous years, our sole beneficiary has been Gawad Kalinga. Proceeds from the 2nd Philippine Kpop Convention went to the Kalinga sa Bayan campaign particularly to fund the activities for the 2011 Bayani Challenge in Bantayan Island in Cebu. Through this event, we hoped to encourage the youth to participate in the movement’s mission of building communities in our country. This year, we will extend our cause to animal welfare in our country through the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).
In lieu of tickets, a minimum donation of P150 will be given to our beneficiaries. We will also be accepting donations in kind during the event for the victims of the calamity in Mindanao (rice, canned goods, clothes, etc) and medical care and rehabilitation for the rescued dogs in the Illegal Dogfighting Case in Cavite (dog food, steel bowls, cleaning materials, IV line–macro drip, 3cc syringes, hydrogen peroxide, medicines such as pet/generic multivitamins, liver supplements, and other veterinary supplies). Staff from both organizations will assist in the donations on Dec 30.
